The review of your games takes a revolutionary turn with new features and updates for an immersion of the most conducive to progression. You'll be able to review your best moves, spot key moments when things went wrong, and get guidance from a virtual coach to help you learn from your mistakes.
This tool is available today on Chess.com for premium members and will soon be available for all our users. Here are some of the new features in Game Review:
Progress with the explanations of your virtual coach
Understanding computer rating can be extremely difficult. Why does he consider your move a blunder? Why does it say your shot isn't the best? Our Game Review helps you decipher the analysis of the cold machine thanks to your virtual coach who explains to you WHY such moves are good or bad, how to force a mate, gain material or damage the opponent's pawn structure, and much more Again.
Additionally, you can now press "Show Line" to have the virtual coach play the computer's best suit on the chessboard.
Accuracy rate tool review
There are few things as satisfying as checking your accuracy rating after a good game. Since we introduced this tool, it has quickly become one of Chess.com's most popular features. Neophytes like Grand Masters like to see an estimate of between 0 and 100 ide their level of play on a game, so many members pay great attention to this score that they try to improve at all costs. This encouraged us to work hard to improve this tool to make it even more interesting and rewarding. We're still comparing your moves against recommendations from top computers, but we've changed the process for calculating your score.
Why ?
Well, most chess players - even beginners - often play the best moves! Our old system was heavily weighted by the number of "best" moves found, which significantly affected the level of accuracy. Some players were thus disappointed when their score was too low, and many allegations of cheating were made when it was very high. With our new accuracy level, you'll notice the majority of scores fall mostly between 50 and 95 and provide a more intuitive understanding of how accurate your game is.
Although it is a challenge, it is now possible to get a perfect score of 100! To learn more about our new accuracy scores, click here.
Replay key moments to improve your accuracy rate
Did an error in an otherwise very well played game cause your accuracy score to drop? Game Review now allows you to correct mistakes made at key moments and find out how accurate you would have been had you found better moves. With the new Key Moments feature, you'll be guided to critical positions throughout the game, whether it's good shots or missed chances. You will have the opportunity to understand and erase the mistakes you made during the game and you will then obtain a new adjusted accuracy score!
To use this feature, simply click the green "Start Review" button and let your virtual coach guide you through the key moments, step by step.
Brilliant Hits Update
The Brilliant Blow is a rare bird, too rare in your opinion and sometimes not so brilliant. So we changed the way "shining hits" are recognized. The new game review has been refined to better understand what humans identify as a brilliant move. Brilliant moves must now sacrifice material in some way and be the best or near best move in a position. Brilliant moves will also be awarded a bit more generously to new players, recognizing that some big sacrifices, which may be standard for experienced players, are quite a feat for newbies. We think you'll love this update, give it a try and let us know what you think!
New Super Move
Brilliant moves may be rare, but there are many other decisive moves worth celebrating and recognizing in a game of chess.
Super moves, marked with an elegant blue outline and an exclamation mark, have a significant positive impact on your position or significantly change the outcome of a game. If you found a winning move, spotted a resource to salvage a losing position, or found the one good move, you surely deserve praise. Now you will receive them! Just like Shiny Moves, Super Moves will be distributed a bit more generously to new players.

Better understand your performance in openings
The Game Review now features opening comments written by high-level players. Your virtual coach will explain, stroke by stroke, what each stroke accomplishes.
Once you reach the last move of the opening library, your virtual coach will also give you all the relevant information about it. You'll see the name of the opening you've played, the total number of games played on that opening, your overall performance, and a list of moves the Masters have played in the position along with statistics on the performance of those moves.
Find out which openings earn you the most and which ones you struggle with. Then use that knowledge to progress, find openings you're comfortable with, and cross out the less effective ones from your repertoire.
Many team members have contributed to our Game Review tool. Special thanks to @drittman13 who led the project, @PawnMorphy and @querylanguage who built the back-end, @andrew_haupt, @tshwed, @scottbedard who created the interface, @dwcoates, @DanTheCabin, @2tp, @ dpervov, and @nollaversioit who worked on the explanation engine, and many more!
