The National Association for the Improvement of View (ASNAV) has published its recommendations for teleworking while preserving its view.
For the second time, the French are still confined for long weeks in order to slow down the progression of the COVVI-19 epidemic in the country.Against the new coronavirus, telework is once again strongly encouraged to employees. In a recent interview with the Parisian, the Minister of Labor, Elisabeth Borne assured that the employees worked more from a distance than at the start of the containment: "On average, those who teleworked last week did at the rate of 3,7 days against 2.7 days a week before. In total, 45 % of employees in the private sector made teleworking and 23 % did 100 % of the time ".But, these new working habits are not without consequences for the health of employees.Addictions, loneliness, anxiety, harmful repercussions are to be taken seriously.Furthermore, confinement also requests the view of the French more: less exposure to natural light, more use of screens, etc..So many bad habits that weigh on sight. In July 2020, an OpinionWay study carried out for the National Association for the improvement of sight revealed that 22 % of all French people, 31 % among the 16 - 24 years old, had noted the appearance of vision disordersnot observed before confinement. So, ASNAV has published its recommendations to limit visual fatigue as much as possible.Simple advice to set up at home to guarantee a safe telework without damaging your eyes.First of all, it is recommended to settle well.To do this, place the computer screen in front of you, the ideal distance is 1.5 times the diagonal of the screen. The eye must be up to the top of the screen by promoting the eye down.Unlike the first confinement, natural light is rarer."Hence the importance of installing well -suitable artificial light sources. The level of brightness must be identical to that emitted by the screen. The lighting, even lit by day, must be placed less than 3 meters, "explains the ASNAV.Also be careful not to use your screen in the dark and always make sure that there is no reflection on the screen.
The importance of breaks
For the eyes to rest, it is very important to take regular breaks by moving away from the screen and wearing your look as far as possible.Generally, it is recommended to take a break of 20 seconds every 20 minutes, looking at about 6 meters. This permanent stimulation of the eyes, in daily conditions not always optimal, can cause certain inconveniences.Headaches, stinging eyes, crying, burning, the sight that is disturbed, the symptoms are numerous. So, ASNAV recalls that all the actors in the visual health sector maintain their activities and that there is therefore no reason not to honor a consultation in the event of visual disturbances.
