Discord on IOS starts blocking adult / porn servers

Users of the discord application on IOS will have to draw a line from adult servers, related to pornography or any other ololated content. This applies to all users, even those over the age of 18.

More access to adult servers from discord on IOS

Entire discord servers can now be marked as NSFW (not safe for work) if their community "is organized around NSFW themes or if the majority of the server's content is for those over 18," says the email. This label will be mandatory in the future and discord will proactively mark servers like NSFW if they do not self-identify. Messaging previously allowed individual channels to be marked as NSFW and classified by age.

Why this discord restriction on IOS in relation to adult servers? The app doesn't say so. But it is very likely that Apple has been there. The manufacturer must have issued an ultimatum: stop access to adult servers or we will remove your app from the app store. In addition, discord specifies that it is always possible to access this type of servers from the web version or the computer application. Added to this is the fact that the blocking is not current on the Android app.

There has already been a more or less similar case with Tumblr in 2018. Apple had eliminated the social media application after the discovery of many sexual content, including child pornography. The app came back a few weeks later, but without the content that bothered. The social network went through a free fall after that.
