We have all found ourselves in a situation where we have to separate a PDF file, in order to extract a page or two, but without having any software at hand to perform this task. Don't worry, stay calm, ilovepdf comes to your rescue! While it is possible to separate pages from a PDF on Mac, not everyone has an Apple computer.
Separating a PDF file with ilovepdf
Ilovepdf is a beautiful little site which, like iloveimg, allows you to perform many manipulations, without having to download anything to your computer . This is a particularly practical service if you have to handle a file when the computer you are in front of is not yours, or even if you are not in front of a computer at all.
Separating a PDF file is just one of the many things ilovepdf can do. It is also possible to merge two PDF files into one, convert a PDF file into a PowerPoint presentation, or even compress a PDF. This file format is notorious for taking up very little space, to the point where it is easy to end up with a PDF file in your hands, which weighs more than 10 MB when, however, it only contains a single page.

So, locate, on the site, the “Split PDF” button. Click on it and upload your file. Once this is done, several options are available to you.
It is possible, for example, to separate a file by following an interval. A PDF file of 6 pages can therefore become 3 files of 2 pages. If you don't want to worry, you can select the fixed interval, and specify the number of pages per file you want. When the settings are to your liking, all you have to do is click on the Split button, wait a few seconds, and you're done.
Extract a page from a PDF file with ilovepdf
Ilovepdf also allows you to extract one or more pages from your long PDF file. As for the first manipulation, you will need to upload your file. Once done, select the “extract pages” tab. Now all you have to do is deselect the pages you don't want to extract, then click the Split button.
If you have a Mac, you can also do all these manipulations with the Preview software, provided by default with the macOS operating system.
