Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP 17-cn0510nf
It has a discreet appearance with its relatively thin and light black design.
This Ultrabook has good connectivity including 1 USB-C, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, Ethernet and audio ports, a convenient HDMI video output for easily connect to a monitor or a TV for example or even 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers made up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 peripherals are connected to it.
The screen adopts classic specifications with its definition of 1600x900 and its 16: 9 format lending itself well to the display of videos. However, it stands out for its anti-reflective treatment making it more readable than a shiny panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors) and less tiring for the eyes over a long period.
Performance, autonomy of the HP 17-cn0510nf
The HP 17-cn0510nff is a thin and light full-size laptop designed for everyday general-purpose use.
It features a low-power Intel Tiger Lake Quad Core i5-1135G7 processor and 8 GB of RAM to deliver good general performance capable of satisfying many users.
Especially since the Quad Core i5 Tiger Lake integrates the Iris Xe (which we tested). However, this graphics solution provides superior performance to that of the classic Intel UHD 620.
As a result, with this relatively thin and light 17-inch laptop, you can watch photos and videos but also play titles that do not consume too many graphic resources.
In terms of storage, HP opts for an SSD here which offers several advantages compared to a hard drive: greater robustness, lower energy consumption, silent operation and greater speed.
In concrete terms, thanks to the SSD, starting/stopping, processing and launching software are much faster than with a simple hard drive and, for example, you can get to online game cards faster. More generally, the SSD guarantees much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis than a hard drive.
Best known price: €699See more pricesOn the 256 GB of the SSD, you can accommodate light and/or few files and software. However, if this capacity - representing half of the standard for hard drives - turns out to be too tight, you can rely on an external storage unit. Favoring a USB-C / USB 3.0 device then represents an interesting option to benefit from fast transfers.
As for battery life, expect about 7 hours on battery power in light use for this computer whose thinness and contained weight make it easy to transport. However, this is not the easiest because of the large format, which is nevertheless particularly comfortable for mainly sedentary use (eg at home).
