Are you used to working with a laptop and want to have a second monitor to follow you everywhere or increase your productivity? The Mobile Pixels company offers portable screens from 12.5 inches to 14 inches that we hang on the back of our PC or Mac.

It is statistically proven, working with two screens increases productivity at work. It's logical, when you don't have to open/close countless windows on a single screen.

For me it is a "must" and all the employees of the team also have two screens on their desk.

Only, when we're telecommuting and jumping on our laptop, well… There's just 1 screen!

Personally, it affects my work and I imagine those who are used to working with two screens in the office and who have been forced to work remotely lately can share my frustration.

However, to any problem, its solution! The Mobile Pixels company offers lightweight portable screens that we can hang on the back of our computer and thus work on 2 or even 3 screens at the same time!

The portable screens Duex Lite, Duex Plus and Trio Series of Mobile Pixels cling as much to a portable PC as to an Apple MacBook.

Easy-to-install portable screens

Mobile Pixels offers three ranges of portable screens for laptops. The Duex Lite, the Duex Plus and the Trios Series. It was the Duex Plus that we had the chance to try.

The Duex Lite is a 12.5 inch 1080p display, while the Duex Plus is 13.3 inches. Both offer 300 nits of brightness, 16:9 aspect ratio and 60Hz refresh rate.

In addition to the size difference, video game enthusiasts can notably use the Duex Plus to plug in their Nintendo Switch.

It is possible to use the Duex Lite screen with the Nintendo Switch video game console. Perfect for travel!

As for the Trio Series, we have the choice between two 12.5-inch screens or two 14-inch screens.

Operation couldn't be simpler.

It is a question of sticking the case of the screen on the back of our PC or MacBook, then thanks to a system of magnetic rails, we can slide the screen to our right or our left of our main screen.

Duex Plus and Duex Lite portable screens can be used both horizontally and vertically.

We connect it to our laptop via the USB-C cable that can also be converted to USB-A, then voila.

Then just go to the display settings of our computer to complete the configuration of our second screen.

You can also use the Duex Lite and Duex Plus screen both horizontally and vertically thanks to the case that serves as a tripod.

It is even possible to rotate it 180 degrees and use it as a presentation screen on the back of our computer.

MobilePixels portable screens are easy to transport and can rotate up to 180 degrees.

A screen that is better not to detach from our computer

If the product is cool, practical and is very user-friendly, the fact remains that it has a somewhat imperfect finish.

On the one hand, the screen is protected by an ABS plastic case which is not the strongest.

Then, necessarily adding a second screen like this adds to the thickness of our computer.

However, if you want to detach it, you should know that the sticky strips eventually dry out. Not very practical...

There are 16 sticky strips in the box, but with 4 corners to stick, which means that you can detach it in a limited way before being caught not being able to stick it back on.

Also, you need to have a less robust laptop. The screen may be light, but our laptop shouldn't be too light either.

In the case of our super lightweight LG Gram, it was difficult for the computer screen to support the Duex Plus. With the aluminum chassis of a MacBook Pro, however, we didn't encounter a problem, and neither did our editor's Razor Stealth Blade laptop.

Finally, if it is possible to put the screen vertically thanks to a form of integrated tripod, this is not the case for the horizontal one. You have to get an additional tripod at $35. It's a pity though.

Mobile Pixels portable screens, a good buy?

Then comes the famous question: are portable screens from Mobile Pixels a good buy?

The Duex Plus that we tested definitely has some interesting assets.

It's easy to install, super practical to work with, versatile, versatile and light to transport.

The Duel Plus portable screen undoubtedly allows us to improve our productivity with a portable computer.

However, we must be aware that we must leave it permanently on our laptop or buy a separate tripod to be able to use it to its full potential over a long period of time horizontally.

As for the price, it remains a small investment. The Duex Lite retails for $349, the Duex Plus for $369, and the Trios Series between $539 and $599. All in US dollars, it should be specified.

It's still more expensive than conventional computer monitors, but you get a significant portable aspect with those of Mobile Pixels.

However, we often find promotions on their site of around 25%. Then it gets a little more interesting.
