Happy to be done with 2020? You will certainly be even more so when you discover the calendar for this month of January on Netflix. On the series side, the streaming giant has just made the complete 24 Hours Chrono available to you this Friday, January 1. It will be followed by that of another cult series, although in a completely different genre: after Jack Bauer, Dawson will land on January 15. And we can also note the arrival of season 4 of Ten percent a few days later, on January 21. On the film side, the platform has also filled up with legendary works, including a Claude Sautet collection (Nelly and M. Arnaud, Vincent, François, Paul... and the others, Max and the Ferrailleurs, Les Choses de la vie , Max and Rosalie), two classics by David Lynch, Elephant Man and Mulholland Drive, the unmissable Dracula by Francis Ford Coppola, or the incredible City of Fear of Dummies, all available since yesterday. To start 2021 with a bang!

But as always, what interests us most here is the new content arriving this January on Netflix. Here, without further ado, is our selection of new films, series and original documentaries not to be missed on the platform, available as a reminder from the SFR box.

01/01: The Headspace Guide to Meditation

Who says New Year, says good resolutions. Running out of ideas for 2021? Netflix offers one, which seems quite adequate in these turbulent times: to start meditating. Free your mind with this new mini-series, divided into eight episodes, inspired by a health application and produced in partnership with its creators. The Headspace Guide to Meditation, as its name suggests, wants to show you the way to fight stress and focus on daily well-being. With, in addition to lessons on techniques and fundamentals, a little guided meditation in each episode. You can relax now on Netflix.

01/01: Cobra Kai, season 3

We've been talking about it for a while, and here it is (already) here: first scheduled for January 8, it's finally this Friday 1st that the long-awaited season 3 of Cobra Kai landed on the streaming platform! The time has finally come to find out what will happen to poor Miguel, but also to Johnny, who has resigned himself to giving the keys to his dojo to his former sensei, the still frightening John Kreese… The heroes of Karate Kid will still live some great adventures, with these 10 new episodes which arrived all at once yesterday on Netflix.

06/01: Tony Parker — The Last Shot

After The Last Dance, aka "the last dance" of Michael Jordan at the Chicago Bulls, place to The Last Shot, "the last basket" of Tony Parker. For its new original documentary on the world of basketball, the streaming giant is indeed interested in the French prodigy. The first to win an NBA Championship title. The first also to have had the honor of having his jersey removed. More than a year after the announcement of his retirement, this program filled with both archive images and (beautiful) testimonials invites us to trace his incredible journey, especially with the franchise with which he remained. (almost) his entire career, the San Antonio Spurs. Not to be missed, next January 6 on Netflix.

08/01: Lupin — In the shadow of Arsene

We've been waiting for months, even years. Here it is finally: the new series inspired by the famous character of Maurice Leblanc arrives on the streaming platform. The idea of ​​seeing Omar Sy in turn embody the gentleman burglar, modern version, aroused general enthusiasm from December… 2019, when a first photo from the set was shared on social networks. Since then, we have understood that the star of Intouchables will not, strictly speaking, interpret Arsène Lupin, but a "simple" thief who is inspired by his exploits... No matter, given the sets and the other members of the cast glimpsed in the trailer, this Lupine: In the shadow of Arsene is certainly worth the detour! The ten episodes of season 1 will be available from January 8 on Netflix.

01/13: The Night Stalker — Manhunt in California

Are you addicted to news stories? More specifically, do you have a passion for (true) murder stories, however morbid they may be? Have you devoured the documentary series on Ted Bundy, little Grégory, or even Don't F*** With Cats? So rejoice, because Netflix will soon add a new one to its catalog! Direction the City of Angels, which left feathers in a vast manhunt that took place in the middle of the 1980s… Suspect number 1: a certain Richard Ramirez, nicknamed “The Night Stalker”. The BA is only available in VO at the moment, but already gives a good idea of ​​what to expect. Horror and suspense. The docuseries, divided into 4 episodes, will arrive in VF (at least in the subtitles) on January 13 on the streaming platform.

15/01: Disenchanted, part 3

Matt Groening is back! The father of the Simpsons, now under contract with Netflix, will (finally) deliver the third chapter of his new flagship series, Disenchanted. There is no doubt that many of you are impatient at the idea of ​​reuniting with Bean, Elfo and Luci in the continuation of their fantastic medieval adventures. For good reason: when they left us at the end of the second part, they had just (again) fallen… into Hell! How will they fare this time? What incredible worlds will they still travel? Response from January 15, with a new burst of 10 episodes on the platform.

21/01: Riverdale, season 5

Notice to fans of Archie, Veronica, Betty and Jughead: they are coming back (all…) in a few days on Netflix! After a season 4 rich in events – and emotions – what awaits the Riverdale band in this new chapter? Knowing that the Coronavirus had cut short the previous one, which had indeed made episode 19 an improvised final season, the heroes will certainly have to resume their adventures where they left off last May, with in particular still this mystery of the video cassettes to solve… To find out for sure, go to the platform from January 21st. As a reminder, this one will only reveal as usual one episode per week, in rhythm with the broadcast of the series on The CW across the Atlantic.

26/01: Snowpiercer, season 2

Have you devoured the first season of the series adapted from the famous cinematic Transperceneige by Bong Joon-Ho? Then you will certainly be happy to know that the second one finally arrives next month on Netflix. As with Riverdale, this show being broadcast on TNT in the United States, it will continue the story one episode at a time, starting January 25. Enough to really savor this new chapter, and all the twists it certainly has in store for us! Remember, at the end of Season 1, the train was being overtaken by another Snowpiercer. With an unexpected first passenger on board: Melanie Cavill's daughter... And, just to make you want to discover these new episodes all the more: we already know that it's Sean Bean (alias Boromir in The Lord of the Rings, or Ned Stark in Game of Thrones) who will play the mysterious Mr. Wilford!
