It is this morning that the Beauceron lawyer and businessman, Hans Mercier, will be heard for the first time at the Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce courthouse in the legal action he is bringing against the Quebec government for drop the vaccine passport.
In his motion to institute proceedings filed in Superior Court, the Saint-Georges resident asks the court to declare void the section of the Public Health Act which has allowed the Legault government to impose, since September 1, the vaccination passport to have access to places such as restaurants and others.
"I believe this is an unreasonable measure that infringes fundamental freedoms," said Me Mercier in a video interview with EnBeauce.com.
In the eyes of the lawyer, the imposition of the vaccine passport is an attempt at compulsory vaccination in disguise which leads many citizens to be vaccinated without having a real choice "and even less a choice resulting from free and informed consent" to argue the lawyer. He also believes that the personal data contained in the document can easily be hacked.
Me Mercier hopes that the judge who will hear him this morning will not reject his request on the bench so that he can present his plea on the merits at a second hearing which will probably take place in early 2022.
