In 2021, when Microsoft introduced Windows 11, it announced that it will include a feature that will allow users to launch Android apps on their PCs. This feature is not yet available, but it is already beta tested and normally it should arrive this year.

In any case, to play Android games on PC, you will have another alternative: the Google Play Games app from Google. In December, the Mountain View company had indeed announced that it will launch a Google Play Games application for Windows which will allow you to play games designed for mobile on a computer.

And this week, Google decided to start beta testing. Unfortunately, for the moment, this beta is very limited. Indeed, to participate, you will have to register (here), and be in South Korea, Hong Kong, or Taiwan. If you don't live in one of these countries, you can either wait for the international rollout or try your luck with a good VPN.

Google does not indicate when it intends to deploy this novelty in the rest of the world. But in the meantime, the beta allows us to know more, and in particular, the minimum configuration. According to the Google site, to play Android games on PC via Google Play Games, your machine will need to meet these criteria:

We can assume that this list could be more detailed at the end of the closed beta phase, and before the deployment.

A limited beta, with important titles

In any case, when it comes to the games available, it should not be expected that all Play Store titles will be playable on PC. Google explains that beta participants will be able to take advantage of “a” catalog of Google Play Games.

Nevertheless, the firm has made sure that there are a few important titles. “We are thrilled to announce that some of the world's most popular mobile games will be available at launch, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Summoners War, State of Survival: The Joker Collaboration and Three Kingdoms Tactics, which are delighting hundreds of millions. players in the world each month, ”writes the Mountain View firm.

“This product brings the best of Google Play to more laptops and desktops, enabling immersive and seamless gaming sessions between phone, tablet, Chromebook and Windows PC. Gamers can easily browse, download and play their favorite mobile games on their PC, while enjoying larger screens with mouse and keyboard inputs.

Progress in games will be synchronized between PC and smartphone. And on top of that, it will be possible to use the points accumulated on Google Play (Google Play Points) on this PC version.
