Activision has formalized the next Call of Duty. Subtitled Vanguard, this future episode will once again return to the Second World War. The release is scheduled for November 5.
In the turmoil, Activision has formalized its future juggernaut. In a release on August 19, Call of Duty: Vanguard was introduced. It will be released on November 9 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PC. As rumors suggested, it will have the particularity of bringing us back once again to the Second World War, where it all began for the cult saga (4 of the first 5 opuses were already there).
At the controls, we will find Sledgehammer Games, to whom we already owe Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014) and Call of Duty: WWII (2017). Other Call of Duty-related studios will participate in its development: Treyarch will focus on the Zombies mode while Raven Software will have the heavy task of ensuring that the integration into the Battle Royale Warzone goes smoothly. A beta will be offered before release, first for PlayStation users.
The next Call of Duty does not ignore the single-player campaign
Note that Call of Duty: Vanguard does nothing like Battlefield 2042 — its main competitor. In addition to turning away from modern conflicts, the shooter published by Activision will offer a single-player campaign. She'll tell us about the origin of the Special Forces, with several heroes inspired by real life, including a woman reminiscent of Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a Soviet sniper credited with 309 enemy kills. This will be an opportunity to take a short trip around the world, passing through four different fronts: Eastern Front, Western Front, North Africa and the Pacific. In its previous games, Sledgehammer Games had been particularly inspired with its campaigns.

Note that Sledgehammer Games is not aiming for 100% authenticity with Call of Duty: Vanguard, opting for a somewhat alternative approach. “For us, Vangard is rooted in history, but not entirely indebted to it. There is no revisionism here”, specifies Josh Bridge, in charge of the campaign. It's already a way of saying that Call of Duty: Vanguard will not be political – like every episode. Of course, we will find the very Hollywood staging.

At launch, Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer will feature 20 maps, with 16 of them capable of supporting up to 12 players. Fans will no doubt be watching the integration into Warzone (a new environment is on the program), which passed the milestone of 100 million players a few months ago. Especially since Activision has promised new anti-cheating measures. In short, there is nothing to worry about for this Call of Duty: Vanguard.
