M'abonnerNearly 30 million mobile phones are sold each year in France, but only 5 to 9 million are given or sold between individuals or to reconditioning professionals, according to a study carried out by Elabe for Ecosystem, the eco-organization in charge ofmanagement of electronic and electric waste collection and recycling.
If 73 % of French people prefer to buy their new smartphone, 13 % opt for the occasion, by environmental conviction or for the sake of savings. On the other hand, still too little think of putting their mobiles back on the market: around 100 million, more or less recent, would sleep in drawers, according to a parliamentary report of the Senate, when they have a market value and could live a secondlife.Because today, there are many solutions to sell your mobile.
The key: fresh money, renewal for a new smartphone cheaper or vouchers to spend in major brands. So who to resell your laptop?
Sell to a reconditioning specialist
49 % of French people say they are ready to buy a reconditioned smartphone, according to a survey carried out by the SMAAART reconditioning company.A boon for sellers who are spoiled for choice since a dozen online specialists (Certideal, Recommece, Yesyes, Smaaart ...) offer to buy their mobiles.
The principle ?You detail the brand, model and condition of your smartphone to obtain a purchase rate. But difficult to find your way around this nebula."The price disparities offered are important," said Gaël Brouard, Chairman and CEO of Comparedle, an eco-responsible comparator for recovery of Hightech products which allows you to obtain a purchasing assessment by online and physical companies. And once the telephone is sent by package or via a relay point, and examined by the reconditioner from every angle, its price can be revised downwards.

"This is why you have to be as honest as possible by specifying the flaws of the smartphone (scratches, shocks, dysfunctions ...)," advises Gaël Brouard. So, if you opt for the sending by parcel, take photos to challenge the condition of your device, if applicable. Also choose a company whose customer service is in France by checking its location in the "Contacts" or "after-sales service" sections of its site.
Sell to an individual
The advantages of an over -the -counter sale?"Perform a faster transaction and make a better price of your smartphone since no professional intermediate intermediate will take its margin to restore it or recondition it," says Mathilde Hunou, director of the consumer goods department at Leboncoin Group.
First step to succeed in the operation: assess your value as accurately as possible by compulsing the similar announcements (model, general condition) on the major advertising sites or used goods (Leboncoin, Rakuten, Ebay ...) for goodPosition yourself compared to competing sellers. You must then write a detailed ad that answers all the questions that a buyer can ask.Using these same sites provides your mobile optimal visibility. You can even increase it by sharing your ad on your social networks.A buyer contacts you?"Exchange as much as possible with him to estimate his seriousness," advises Mathilde Hunou. Then check its reputation by consulting the opinions left by other Internet users during previous purchases.
Is the case concluded? The buyer can choose to use the internal transaction systems of these sites which sequest the money that must be paid to you as long as he has not received and inspected the product. The alternative: a handing over to hand with liquid payment."The buyer can be reassured by manipulating the device, checking that he works well," explains Mathilde Hunou. On your side, you can at this time present a selling certificate (or transfer letter), to be signed by both parties (models to download online), to attest to the transaction. This allows in particular, if your phone is still under warranty, to transfer the property thereof.
Sell to your telecom operator
Of the four major national operators, three offer a service to take over your former smartphones: Bouygues, Orange and SFR.Only the first two allow you to obtain a firm proposal from their buying price in the store. But also to benefit from bonuses for the purchase of a new device, between 50 and 100 euros in general, depending on the model, more for recent high -end mobiles.
SFR goes backwards: it first requires the purchase of a new smartphone then resumes your old against a voucher to spend only within its "accessories" department.Bouygues (recyclage-mobiles.bouyguestelecom.fr), SFR (recycling- mobile.sfr.fr) and the Orange shops also offer a direct recovery of smartphones. But in any case, according to our simulations, operators are not the most generous.Hence the interest in using comparisters like Comarcycle.com, Sellonmobile.com or that of Ariase (Ariase.com/mobile/reprise-telephone) to find the best saying buyer before deciding.
Sell at a used store
Stores specializing in the resale of second -hand products, Easy Cash, Cash Converters, Cash Express or Happy Cash, buy your old mobile in cash or by check if its value is greater than 750 euros.Their asset: proximity and immediacy.Your device is examined in front of you at the counter, a price is offered to you.You are free to accept or decline it.
You can also try a negotiation. If the prices offered are often more interesting than with operators or large distribution, a precaution is essential before entrusting your mobile to them: erase all your data."Unlike other players in the sector, they do not use professional data erasure software (personal, banking ...), the latter that can be recovered by malicious buyers, even if the smartphone has been reset",Gaël Brouard alert. To make it virgin with all traces, use specialized applications, such as IMYFONE UMATE for iOS or DR.FONE systems for Android.
"Your checklist for successful sales"
The opinion of Mathilde Hunou, director of the consumer goods department at Leboncoin Groupe.
Sell
At Fnac, at Boulanger or Auchan, selling your smartphone can be a very good deal.First, if you want to change the device. As with some operators, bonuses granted by manufacturers are added to the recovery price."For example, 100 euros if you buy the last Samsung S20 5G, which allows the consumer to renew his equipment and know that his old mobile will be valued by being recused, if his condition allows," explains Gaël Brouard. The solution also allows you to use the money recovered for other purchases. These large brands give the choice to transform the value of your old device into vouchers or gift cards to spend on all their shelves.
Give: the good idea
Do you keep old smartphones that have little or more market value?Give it to be recycled or restored. For example, the Jedonnemontelephone.fr site allows them to be sent to the Bocage workshops for free, a company from the Emmaüs France network, which offers them a second youth to then resell them at solidarity prices.
