Incursion Protocols are the infiltration or exfiltration missions into the heart of the experience offered by Rainbow Six Extraction. Teams are in full control of who will raid the Quarantine Zone and when they will leave. The quarantine zones are divided into 3 parts connected by sterile and secure airlocks for agents and staff, where you can blow between two objectives.

Each area will require you to complete a specific objective, and completing that objective will earn you rewards. The more objectives you complete, the higher the profits will increase. You can collect them at any time by choosing to leave the area, but you are free to continue for more rewards. However, don't be too stingy, because there will be penalties if you fail...

    Alive specimen

    Difficulty: difficult

Objective: Lure an Archaean to a trap and capture it alive.

    Procedure:

Advice: Clean the area as much as possible before approaching the target by removing the nests and eliminating the Archaeans, especially at the level of the path leading to the Extraction area.

    Marking nests

    Difficulty: easy

Objective: Place beacons on dormant nests.

    Procedure:

Tips: Take your time and crouch as much as possible. You won't be able to plant beacons in alerted nests, so it's imperative that you don't get spotted. If you're playing with multiple players, have one player cover your back when placing beacons.

    Biopsy

    Difficulty: easy

    Objective: Eliminate Archeans stealthily.

    Procedure:

Tips: You don't have to come from behind to be able to take out an Archaean stealthily, you can also blind them with smoke bombs to destabilize them and then use your REACT blade to take them out.

    Sabotage

    Difficulty: medium

Objective: Defend 2 charges of explosives while being attacked by waves of Archaeans.

    Procedure:

Tips: take the time to clear the nests in the area to avoid the surplus of Archaeans. Feel free to barricade the walls and use the various mines at your disposal.

    Triangulation

    Difficulty: medium

Objective: activate 3 stations in a specific order.

    Procedure:

Tips: Start by scouting out the stations and clearing the area completely. Don't activate the stations right away because you will only have a few seconds to go from one to the other in the order that is asked of you.

    Sequential scan

    Difficulty: medium

Objective: Scan different areas while being attacked by waves of Archaeans.

    Procedure:

Tips: take the time to clean the nests in the areas to be scanned to avoid the surplus of Archaeans. Do not hesitate to barricade the walls if possible, to use the various mines at your disposal and to make use of the skills of the agents, such as the clones of ALIBI for example.

    Stalking

    Difficulty: easy

Objective: Eliminate several Archaeans to summon an Elite Archaean and kill it.

    Procedure:

Tips: This objective is quite simple since it only asks you to eliminate Archaeans. The Archaean Elite's level is a little higher but you should be able to overcome it without problem, especially if you play with several people.

    Rescue

    Difficulty: difficult

Objective: Free and take a VIP to the Extraction area.

    Procedure:

Advice: This objective requires some mastery of infiltration to be successful, because as soon as you are spotted by the Archaeans, they will start attacking the VIP who will not resist for long. We therefore advise you to choose your team carefully and favor agents like Pulse and Lion, for example. Pulse will be able to easily detect nests but also the VIP as long as he is alive, and Lion is able to locate all enemies moving around him.

    Decontamination

    Difficulty: difficult

Objective: Destroy abnormal nests in a particular territory to obtain a sample of the neoplasm causing contamination.

    Procedure:

Advice: as soon as you shoot an abnormal nest, the other nests in the area will be alerted and will spawn as many Archaeans as there are nests, i.e. up to 14 enemies. It is therefore wise to take your time to properly identify the locations of all the nests and to lay as many mines as possible before starting to shoot.

    Closure

    Difficulty: medium

Objective: plant 3 bombs to destroy the feeder nodule that allows the nests to reappear.

    Procedure:

Tips: In this objective, enemies constantly respawn due to the Nodule Feeder. We still advise you to destroy the nests stealthily to avoid being overwhelmed if the enemies detect you. It's important that you take all the bombs at once to avoid back and forth as Archaeans continually respawn.

    Rescue missing person

    Difficulty: easy

Objective: Weaken the Cocoon to extract the Agent and bring it back to the Extraction area.

    Procedure:

Tips: This objective is very simple, even more so if you are playing with several people. It is enough that a player concentrates on the cocoon, another on the cells of the tree, and a last on the enemies around. All agents are capable of achieving this objective.

    We don't abandon anyone

    Difficulty: easy

Objective: Bring your injured teammates back to the Extraction area.

    Procedure:

Tips: If you're playing three, just have the third player cover you while you drag your injured teammate back to the Extraction area. All agents are capable of achieving this objective.

    Portal

    Difficulty: hard

Objective: Enter the Singularity to kill the Protean.

    Procedure:

Tips: This is the most difficult objective in the game, so you'll have to choose your team carefully to succeed. We advise you to do it in threes, and especially with people whose habits you know and who will be able to cover you when you need it. It's a good idea to have at least one agent that can heal you, especially if you run into a Protean that can split.

REACT Agents (Operators) in Rainbow Six Extraction

REACT Agents are elite military specialists mostly from Anti-Terrorist Units. Each brings their own set of skills, abilities, and unique equipment to help them survive in an environment as dangerous as it is demanding.

The 18 most suitable agents have been recruited to form the REACT unit and go on an incursion into the quarantine zones. Initially, you will only have access to half of them, but you will be able to control the following agents as you progress:

The different statuses of Rainbow Six Extraction agents

    Operational

All agents are initially Operational, which means that they are ready to be sent on a mission.

    Inactive

Agents whose health is below a certain threshold are Inactive. Players should use other Agents to allow Inactive Agents time to recover.

    Missing

If an Agent could not be extracted from a mission, they are considered Missing and will have to be rescued during a future mission. Once the Agent is recovered, it will become Inactive while recovering.

How do I defeat all enemies in Rainbow Six Extraction?

Archeans are humanoid parasitic creatures that come in 13 types, each more dangerous than the next. During your incursions, you will also have to face 4 other entities which are part of the environment and which are likely to give you a hard time.

    Entities

    Emergence

Emergence is a sticky black substance that spreads to sites infected with the Chimera parasite. It's not dangerous on its own, but walking on it will slow you down considerably. Note that you can get rid of it by shooting it, and thanks to a special lamp that you can unlock later.

    Nests

Nests spawn more Archaeans. They are dormant by default, but go into a state of alert when Archaeans detect you and howl, which sets in motion the production of new Archaeans.

    Squishy

Squishy are, as their name suggests, slimy puddles that multiply and deal damage to you. Just shoot them to eliminate them.

    Blinding Spores

Spores are particularly annoying because in addition to appearing anywhere, they can also stick to you or your teammates before exploding, dealing damage and will prevent you from seeing. You can get rid of them before they burst with melee attacks or Nomad's AIRJABs.

    Tier 1

    Sapper

This Archaean's back is covered in a sac filled with an explosive fluid, which bursts upon contact and can affect both humans and the Archeans. He is very fast and has a habit of rushing at agents, so there is no need to back up when he dashes towards you: use a melee attack to eliminate him, this should give you time to get away enough. You can also use his explosive bag as a weapon by shooting it when another Archaean is near him.

    Flayer

This Archaean is very fast and favors melee attacks. Eliminate the Grunts before they get surrounded, as they can quickly gain the upper hand with their very powerful attacks.

    Dart

Spike-shaped projectiles sprout from this Archaean's arms, and he takes pleasure in hurling them at agents. It's a good idea to stay out of his line of sight, so make use of your REACT technologies, like the laser wall that will stop his projectiles.

    Toxic

This Archean's back is covered in a sac filled with poisonous gas, which explodes on contact and can blind and inflict significant damage to humans. He is very fast and has a habit of rushing at agents, so there is no need to back up when he dashes towards you: use a melee attack to eliminate him, this should give you time to get away enough.

    Tier 2

    Trapper

This Archaean produces a strange substance that immobilizes and deals damage to its target. You'll become easy prey if you don't eliminate him quickly, but don't panic: just incapacitate him with a grenade before he launches his attack and riddle him with bullets afterwards. You can also use skills like Vigil's which allows you to become invisible to attack him from behind.

    Sower

Be careful where you step because this Archaean is able to set blinding traps on the ground. Eliminate it quickly to avoid losing visibility. He mostly walks on all fours, so keep an eye out and don't hesitate to use jet mines to surprise him.

    Tier 3

    Tormentor

This Archaean is able to send projectiles without tiring, but also transforms into a bizarre slime substance to avoid you before changing to back in shape to attack. He is very fast and evasive, so you will have to use REACT technologies to prevent him from moving, such as GRIDLOCK's TRAX darts, and ELA's GRZMOT mines.

    Slugger

It is almost completely covered in an impenetrable shell. Don't be fooled by his massive build: he's extremely fast and might run into you and bump into you, which can hurt a lot. Avoid attacking this Archean head-on and try instead to destabilize it to reach its weak point, which is in its back.

    Ranger

This Archaean is mainly used to support his allies by making them invisible, himself included. Use a melee attack to expose his weak point and shoot him quickly before his armor falls back. If you can't, you can use HIBANA's grenades which can penetrate enemy armor.

    Tier 4

    Alpha

He is very fast, can summon other Archaeans to aid him in battle, and is able to send out blinding projectiles that deal a lot of damage. It's important to use REACT technologies to immobilize him and eliminate him quickly if you don't want to get surrounded. Start by using LION's drone to avoid losing sight of Alpha, distract him and the Archeans he summoned with ALIBI's clones, get rid of your visibility problems with FINKA's ability, and finally, duck it.

    The Proteans

The Proteans are a mobile form of the Parasite Chimera that took the form of a REACT agent. They are able to mimic the behavior of agents to some degree, and can adopt traits associated with other Archaeans, such as a shell, for example.

    SMOKE

This Protean is very aggressive and uses harmful gas to reduce the battlefield. It can also simulate a shotgun to attack nearby targets. It is crucial that you avoid gas clouds which are very dangerous.

    ALIBI

His ability to generate clones of himself makes this Protean very dangerous and sneaky. You'll need to take down clones first as they can quickly overwhelm your team.

    SLEDGE

Able to inflict significant melee damage, this Protean is all the more difficult to apprehend because of its frontal shell which becomes more and more resistant to bullets over time . You must at all costs stay in motion and put distance between your agents and him.

Must-have tips and tricks for Rainbow Six Extraction

    Weapons are not enough

Take the time to familiarize yourself with each of the agents by exploring their different abilities and technologies. Try to use these to gain a tactical advantage rather than always using your weapons. Some enemies are too fast or too tough for bullets, so don't hesitate to throw smoke bombs, mines or clones to incapacitate, injure or distract them.

    Destroy nests

In addition to preventing additional Archaeans from spawning, destroying nests earns you experience – and even more if you do it stealthily. It will also allow you to avoid the spread of Emergence – the sticky black substance that slows you down enormously when you walk on it – since the alerted nests secrete a lot of it.

    Knowledge is a weapon

Don't hesitate to use the drone and REACT technology to get as much information as possible about your enemies and put the most chances on your side. You can use it to scout Archaeans, especially Elite Archaeans, but also nests and points of interest specific to your objectives, such as VIPs, stations or arrows.

    Share your resources

When you play with several people, you will have to be altruistic because the resources you see on the map are the same for everyone. Some of them can be used several times, which can allow two players to reload their ammo, for example. Reloading twice when your teammate only has 30 bullets left will only serve to put you in danger.

The same goes for ability refill boxes: favor agents whose ability doesn't auto-recharge, like Doc, who needs to reload his med gun to continue using it. Most agents have abilities that recharge over time, so don't skip the recharges if your teammates aren't so lucky.

You have to know when to give up

It's up to your team to leave an area and when. Missions increase in difficulty as you progress, but experience also increases, so it's up to you to weigh the pros and cons to determine if it's worth persevering or if it's better to leave it at that.

To make a decision, you have to take into account the gain or loss of experience. If for example you play three and the three agents survive, you will have a bonus of 90% experience (30% per character who manages to get out of the incursion), almost double the experience. On the contrary, if your agent is lost during the incursion, you will lose this bonus and your experience will be penalized until you have rescued him.

It's also important to note that medkits become increasingly rare as the difficulty increases, unlike enemies which multiply, especially when playing with three. The more you progress, the more the presence of an agent capable of healing in your team becomes a necessity.
