An entry -level smartphone that makes good printing

We are facing a smartphone at 179 euros. And yet, several people interviewed by us saw in him a smartphone at 350-400 euros. It must be said that the finish of the Xiaomi Redmi 10 is exemplary in view of its pricing positioning (the real), whether in the materials or in the assembly. The first contact is in any case more conclusive than with a Samsung Galaxy A22 5G yet at 259 euros. It is better to prevent maniacs: the back and the screen quickly hang and a lot of fingerprints. The protective shell supplied automatically will not be a luxury, and not only to protect the smartphone from falls and scratches.

In the hands, the impression is just as good.No low -end plastic. No hollow at the time of a knock on the back.No dubious noise when passing the finger on the buttons. The smartphone really returns a feeling of robustness.Always in terms of handling, the rear photo block appears really well integrated. It is not perfect, but more than acceptable at this level of range.

90 Hz screen, double stereo speaker

Test du Xiaomi Redmi 10 disponible chez Free Mobile : quelle expérience avec ce smartphone à petit prix ?

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 check screen a lot of boxes. Its screen is full HD+, supports the 90 Hz refresh rate and chooses the punch for the front camera. On the other hand, it makes the dead end on Amoled technology with its more bright colors and its deeper blacks.

In terms of features, we find the classic reading mode (tone hotter) and dark fashion, but also the adjustments of the refresh rate (60 or 90 Hz) and the color diagram (standard, saturated or intense). What respond to different preferences and different use scenarios.

On the sound side, we have a double stereo speaker, but nothing extra either. The asymmetry between the upper speaker and the bottom is very marked, while the rendering appears too loaded in treble.Good news for those still having an old wired helmet on hand: the mini-jack responds present, at the level of the upper edge.

Lots of photo sensors, but two really interesting

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 multiplies the sensors, offering four on the back and one at the front. In fact, the proof is once again made that it is better a good sensor than many sensors not all bringing something relevant in terms of experience. The 50 megapixel main sensor indeed offers beautiful photos well detailed during the use of the 50 megapixel mode. The Ultra Grand-Angle sensor helps out on occasion, but distorts a little too much. The two 2 megapixel sensors are mainly there to inflate the technical sheet. The Xiaomi Redmi 10 is finally dropped when the brightness is missing. It is clearly not a night bird.As for the 8 megapixel sensor for selfies, it does the job, but nothing extraordinary either.

Below, a photo speaking of the ultra grand angle to 10x zoom:

No 5g

Regarding mobile network compatibility, the Xiaomi Redmi 10 is limited to 4G with Dual-Sim management thanks to two nano-Sim locations at the level of the lower tranche. No 5G, however.

And other flows, measured outdoors:

Modest performance

With its Helio G88 SOC on board, the Redmi 10 allows you to play, but not in ideal conditions. To the limits in the graphic options are added a little long loading times and the few jets at times.Nothing surprising that said, with a smartphone within 200 euros. Our friend is doing so for everyday tasks, but will therefore show his limits in the face of gourmet tasks.Good point on the other hand concerning the heating. We have not noted anything special.Lukewarm, at worst.

The internal memory of the Xiaomi Redmi 10 does not sparks. The Disk Speed tool also confirms it: 128 MB/s in writing and 177 MB/s in reading.Failing to bring fluidity in all circumstances, the internal memory can be extended from 512 GB, thanks to a dedicated microsd location. What to avoid feeling cramped too quickly.

Good autonomy

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 has a 5,000 mAh battery, a capacity heralding good autonomy. The first day will actually be a formality. It will be possible to reach 1 and a half days or 2 days depending on the uses.

Below, user tracking: departure at 12:06 p.m. with 100 % and arrival the next day at 10:00 p.m. with 7 %

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 supports the wired load in 18 watts. The manufacturer even provides a slightly more powerful block, capable of delivering 22.5 watts.Note that the smartphone can ensure the fired inverted load, with a power of 9 watts. No wireless load, however.

Below, a wired load monitoring a little long at the end:

Android 11 with Miui 12.5

With the Xiaomi Redmi 10, we had a Miui 12 interface.5 based on Android 11.

This is accompanied by some preinstalled applications and games as part of commercial partnerships: Amazon, Facebook, Tiktok, WPS Office, Amazon Music, Trip.com, ebay, booking.com, LinkedIn, Agoda, Aliexpress, Block Puzzle Guardian, Tile Fun, Bubble Shooter With Friends, Jewels Blast, Dust Settle, Pubg Mobile, Lords Mobile, Opera and Netflix. All these little people can be uninstalled.

It also offers some practical functions, including:

Let's finish on the security part. The fingerprint reader on the side is very responsive, with an almost instantaneous landing on the home screen, while facial recognition with the camera requires a little more time, with an landing after 2-3 seconds on the home screen.During our test, an update of 452 MB brought us patches from July 2021 to those of October 2021.Not the last, but almost.

Verdict:

At the exit of the box, the Redmi 10 makes a rather good impression with an exemplary finish (but dirty), especially with regard to its pricing positioning below 200 euros. In use, this smartphone does not sparks, but offers a pleasant screen to use, a perfectible but always welcome stereo speaker for multimedia, a main convincing main photo sensor and honest seflies for lack ofbe exceptional.Always in positive, there is also this microSD extension with a dedicated slot, this mini-jack connection welcome and these accessories indeed present in the box (protective shell and charger more powerful than necessary). In terms of interface, the Redmi 10 benefits from practical functions and is accompanied by applications in number, but having the merit of being uninstalled. Finally, there is this charge requiring two good hours. It is explained by the big capacity in order to guarantee good autonomy, but also by a choice to contain the final price. It is not ideal in terms of experience, but ultimately forgivable.
