Visa advances in the integration of cryptocurrencies into its payment network

Al Kelly, p.-D.G.of Visa, evoked the ambitions of the giant of payments in terms of cryptocurrencies at a conference call, describing the company as "extremely well positioned".

Visa implements a strategy with several components with regard to its services related to Bitcoin (BTC), to Stablecoins and, in the longer term, to digital central bank currencies (CBDC).The P.-D.G.of Visa, explained: "We focus on 5 different opportunities that we see in this space, and I would say that this is an area in which we look very importantly.»»

Regarding sovereign digital currencies, Visa would already be in conversation with several central banks about their development, suggesting that the payment company could play a role in this process: "We discuss with central banks from a perspective ofprivate public partnership.»»
