How to use a closed laptop?

When using a laptop in mobility situations, it is practical to turn it off (or put it in prolonged standby) automatically by closing your PC.But in a situation of use of laptop as a desktop computer, with an external screen and a connected keyboard, this behavior may not suit.If you do not need two screens (that of the laptop and the second monitor connected to the PC), it is more convenient to close your computer while being able to continue to use it.Here's how to do with Windows 11.

Choose the action following the hood closure

In order to change the behavior when we close the laptop, we will use the configuration panel:

1. Cliquez sur Démarrer puis commencez à taper « panneau« . Dès que l’icône du Panneau de configuration apparaît, cliquez dessus :

2. Cliquez sur Système et sécurité :
3. Puis sur Options d’alimentation :
4. Sur la gauche, cliquez sur le lien Choose the action following the hood closure :
5. L’écran suivant propose différentes actions qui se déclenchent lors de l’utilisation du bouton Marche/Arrêt, du bouton de veille ou lors de la fermeture de l’ordinateur portable. Ces actions peuvent être réglées lorsque le PC est en autonomie ou lorsqu’il est branché sur secteur. Dans la colonne Sur secteur, choisissez Ne rien faire pour l’action Lorsque je referme le capot :
6. Cliquez sur le bouton Enregistrer les modifications.

And There you go.You can now use your laptop in a closed position on your desktop.It makes a cleaner setup, right?And the screen and keyboard of the laptop will be protected from dust 🙂
