Google has implemented a new feature in the YouTube app so that Android users can program a warning message advising them to "take a break" from watching videos.

Users of the YouTube Android app can now program a timer to remind themselves to "take a break" from their intensive video viewing, several American media reported this weekend of May 12, 2018.

To activate the “remind me to take a break” function, go to the app settings, then “general settings”. At the top of the list now appears the new option, which allows you to schedule the appearance of a pop-up message that will allow you to have a better idea of the time you spend watching content on YouTue.

It is possible to program a reminder every 15, 30, 60, 90 or 180 minutes.

If you don't have access to it yet, don't panic: the deployment of the option is still in progress. Remember to update the YouTube app regularly to have this change.

This new feature is one of the options unveiled at the Google I/O 2018 conference on May 8. However, it had already been identified in the code of the app before its deployment, had noted our colleagues from Frandroid.
